He dismissed '67-'68 pretty casually- 'not much there from then.' He did mention at some length the Avalon shows from Jan '69 but that once they were combed over for consideration where Live Dead was concerned alot was taped over. He said at one point 'you gotta understand tape stock was rare and expensive in those days.'
But the big point he made on that ers gets back to this 'whole show' thing. He said people have to understand sometimes a show is represented in the vault but a reel or two is missing.
Man whoever issued this whole show edict is carrying alot of weight in that organization currently. That much was extremely clear.

"Not much there from then!" Well, then it looks like we won't be getting a '60s release anytime soon...

He was quick to mention the May '69 release from Florida when the subject came up, which sounded to my ears like, "Geez we just did one from then!"
